1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of the Big Paris Tour and Secret Paris apps (the "Apps"), published by Unicorn United ("we", "us", "our"). By downloading, purchasing, or using either App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Apps.
2. Description of Service
The Apps are self-guided walking tours of Paris, downloaded to your phone:
- Big Paris Tour: a walking route covering 30 landmarks over 3 days, with audio historical storytelling, map navigation, and a bonus treasure hunt included.
- Secret Paris: a standalone treasure hunt through unusual, hidden corners of Paris, with geolocated riddles.
The Apps work offline once downloaded and do not require creating a user account.
3. License to Use
Upon purchase, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the purchased App on devices you own or control, for strictly personal, non-commercial purposes.
4. Purchase, No Account, and Access
Each App is available as a one-time purchase (no subscription): €4.99 for the Big Paris Tour, €7.00 for Secret Paris. No account creation is required to use an App after purchase. Purchases may be made via an app store (App Store / Google Play) or directly on our site, depending on the distribution channel in effect at the time of purchase; the billing and refund terms of that channel apply in addition to these Terms.
5. User Responsibilities
By using the Apps, you agree to:
- Follow traffic rules and pedestrian safety — do not consult the App while crossing a street or in any hazardous situation;
- Respect the places you visit, private property, opening hours, and local regulations (courtyards, passages, monuments);
- Not reproduce, resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the tour content;
- Not attempt to decompile, disassemble, or extract the Apps' source code, except where permitted by law.
6. GPS Location — On-Device Use Only
Please read carefully. The Apps use your phone's GPS position solely to orient you along your route (showing your position on the map, pointing you toward the next stop). This position is processed locally on your device — see our Privacy Policy for full detail.
- The Apps are not a professional turn-by-turn navigation tool: accuracy depends on your device, the urban environment, and signal conditions.
- We do not guarantee the absolute accuracy of the displayed position or of estimated distances between points of interest.
- You remain solely responsible for your orientation, your safety, and compliance with traffic rules while using the Apps.
7. Our Commitment: Zero Advertising, Zero Product Placement
This is the heart of our model. The purchase price of the Apps exists specifically to guarantee the total absence of advertising and the independence of our recommendations. We display no advertising within the Apps, and accept no sponsorship, no product placement, and no paid recommendation from any shop, restaurant, or venue. Places and stories are featured solely for their historical, cultural, or scenic interest.
8. Intellectual Property
All content within the Apps (text, narration, illustrations, routes, code, logo) is the exclusive property of Unicorn United or its licensors, and is protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you no rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand assets beyond the intended use of the Apps.
9. Refunds and Cancellation
As digital content supplied immediately upon your express request, the statutory right of withdrawal may not apply once the download has taken place, in accordance with applicable EU consumer law (implemented in France under Article L221-28 of the Consumer Code). If purchased via the App Store or Google Play, refund requests follow that platform's policy. For a purchase made directly on our site, contact us (Section 17) — we review each request in good faith.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Apps are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind regarding their accuracy, completeness, or uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Apps is limited to the amount actually paid for the relevant App. This limitation does not apply to damages resulting from our gross negligence or willful misconduct, nor where French or EU law prohibits such a limitation (in particular regarding consumer protection).
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify us for the reasonably foreseeable consequences of any use of the Apps that does not comply with these Terms or applicable law.
13. Termination
We may suspend access to the Apps in cases of clearly abusive or fraudulent use. You may stop using the Apps and uninstall them at any time.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a revised "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Apps after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by French law and applicable European Union law, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence that may be more favorable to you. Any dispute, absent an amicable resolution, falls under the jurisdiction of the French courts.
16. General Provisions
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Apps.
